Our staff recruitment program for winter ski season 2008 has now commenced.
Applicants must generally be available to work the full ski season from early June to end September. Commencement and completion dates however, are dependent on snow conditions. Due to the remote location of the resort and general shortage of staff accommodation, you must be prepared to work a 6 day week with a mix of shifts or split shifts. We expect our staff to have a mature and sensible outlook on life. Mt Buller may be a winter resort with mostly everyone on holidays, but you are here to do a job and we expect a good day’s work for a good day’s pay. Skiing and boarding are encouraged as a healthy activity, but these activities and socializing, must not interfere with the job which has to be your first commitment.
We work as a team at Hotel Pension Grimus and you may occasionally be required to assist in other areas. You will also be expected to be friendly and helpful to both our guests and other staff. Accommodation is available in the hotel at a subsidised cost, which is discussed at interview, but will approximately be $195.00 for full board on mountain and $95.00 for bed only in our off mountain accommodation per week. All accommodation is non-smoking, so please consider this before applying as you will need to go outside to smoke and smoke breaks are not provided during working hours. The carrying or use of mobile phones is also not permitted during working hours.

Applicants should have previously worked in either a 4 or 5 star Hotel or Resort in similar positions. We expect you to have a strong customer focus and a desire to excel in all service areas. As a member of our team you must have the ability to work with others and maintain harmony for the benefit of our guests. You should also be physically healthy, trustworthy, reliable, punctual, have a high standard of personal grooming and a keen attention to detail.
