HANS and LOTTE GRIMUS are proud to announce that following their achievements at the World Travel Awards in 2009 and 2011, HOTEL PENSION GRIMUS has been presented with the following two awards...for 2012. Australia's Leading Ski Resort Hotel and Australasia's Leading Ski Resort Hotel (which includes the New Zealand region). Hans Grimus travelled to Singapore to collect the awards at a Gala Ceremony at the Intercontinental Hotel held on Thursday 18 September.

Excerpts from the media release follow - Asia & Australasia’s travel glitterati celebrate in Singapore The travel elite of Asia, Australasia and the Indian Ocean have walked off with top honours at a World Travel Awards (WTA) ceremony hosted in Singapore on Thursday 18th October 2012. A packed delegation of VIPs, senior tourism figures and international media travelled from 42 nations to attend the event at InterContinental Singapore, which was held in partnership with Singapore Tourism Board and TravelRave 2012, Asia’s most influential travel trade festival. The WTA awards programme, hailed as the ‘Oscars of the travel industry’ by the global media, highlights and rewards those travel brands that have made the greatest contribution to the industry over the past year. Graham E. Cooke, President & Founder, WTA, underlined the depth and quality of the travel and tourism sector across the three regions. He says: “Our winners are drawn from the breadth of Asia, Australasia and the Indian Ocean, reflecting the strength and depth of the travel and tourism sector in the regions. In Australasia, Hotel Pension Grimus won the coveted title of “Australasia’s Leading Ski Resort Hotel”, Sydney Airport picked up “Australasia’s Leading Airport”, whilst Le Meridien Bora Bora (French Polynesia) was voted “Australasia’s Leading Luxury Hotel”. 2011 World Travel Awards HOTEL PENSION GRIMUS - AUSTRALASIA'S LEADING SKI RESORT HOTEL 2011
VIPs, senior tourism leaders, captains of industry and international media travelled from over 30 nations across Asia and Australasia to attend the WTA Asia & Australasia Ceremony 2011 at Dusit Thani Bangkok. Graham E. Cooke, President & Founder, World Travel Awards, underlined the incredible strength of the region's travel and tourism economy. He said: "These regions is powering the global travel and tourism recovery, and tonight's winners represent the very cream of our industry. It was also an evening of travel triumph for Australasia. Among the big winners were Air New Zealand, which was voted "Australasia's Leading Airline", Bora Bora, French Polynesia named "Australasia's Leading Destination" and Sheraton on the Park, Sydney, picked up "Australasia's Leading Hotel". Amongst other category winners, Hotel Pension Grimus, Mt Buller, Australia was named "Australasia's Leading Ski Resort Hotel". The Asia & Australasia Ceremony marks the fourth leg of World Travel Awards 2011 Grand Tour. The regional winners will then progress to the Grand Final at the end of the year. |
